Woody Allen writes Annie Hall, created “Manhattan”, “New York Stories” and “Midnight in Paris”. He is super talented on combining romance with smart comedy. His sagacity has moved me to write more.
Sofia Coppola writes “Lost in Translation” and “Somewhere”. Her movies are visually poetic and has a strong, deep screenplay. Her movies are cure to the ache of alienation and loneliness.
John Mayer writes deep meaning songs like “In Your Atmosphere”, “Split Screen Sadness” and “Daughters”. His dedication to keep writing something meaningful is really a thing to imitate.
Diablo Cody has this quirky style in writing a brilliant script like “Juno”. “Young Adult” is also one of her works that still showing her quirkiness.
They are people who have been through the low points of their lives. Bad publicity, divorce, personal-life breakdown, emotionally broken, once hate what they did like college, acting, doing jobs that they didn’t want to do -but should to do it.
But they have been through it all. And they believe that they could do it. They believe that they could keep on writing and contributing good works.
They don’t give up easily. They are working their asses off.
They keep on writing.
Lost in Translation is one of the best movie I’ve ever seen in my life. Just by remembering the scenes makes me teary-eyed right now.
Every thing inside the movie is awesome. The camera movements that show us about Japan -the neon lights, Shinjuku and Shibuya streets, the people, the dingdong games, the trains.
I love how the movie could explore two characters in such a beautiful way. Their feelings of being alienated, lonely and confused. This movie makes me sad and relieved at the same time.
The soundtrack is also one piece of great compilation. Goodness.
This movie also inspired me to write better, to reveal the characters and make people sympathized with the characters that I made.
Ron Franz: I’m going to miss you when you go.
Christopher McCandless: I will miss you too, but you are wrong if you think that the joy of life comes principally from the joy of human relationships. God’s place is all around us, it is in everything and in anything we can experience. People just need to change the way they look at things.
Ron Franz: Yeah. I am going to take stock of that. You know I am. I want to tell you something. From bits and pieces of what you have told me about your family, your mother and your dad… And I know you have problems with the church too… But there is some kind of bigger thing that we can all appreciate and it sounds to me you don’t mind calling it God. But when you forgive, you love. And when you love, God’s light shines through you.
